Why am I seeing this warning?

California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, commonly known as Proposition 65 (Prop 65), requires businesses to provide warnings when products may expose consumers to certain chemicals that the State of California has identified as potentially causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

The law applies to products sold in California and covers a wide range of consumer products, including electronics, electrical components, plastics, coatings, packaging materials, and accessories.

Does this mean the product is unsafe?

Not necessarily.

A Proposition 65 warning does not mean that a product violates any federal or state safety standard, nor does it mean that the product is prohibited from being sold. Proposition 65 establishes notification requirements that are often more stringent than many other state and federal regulations.

Tiny Vinyl products are designed and manufactured to comply with applicable consumer product safety requirements. The presence of a Proposition 65 warning reflects California’s unique regulatory requirements and does not automatically indicate that a product presents an unsafe level of exposure.

Why does Tiny Vinyl include Proposition 65 warnings?

Tiny Vinyl products may be distributed throughout the United States, including California. Rather than creating separate packaging and labeling for different states, Tiny Vinyl may provide Proposition 65 warnings on products, packaging, manuals, or websites when appropriate to comply with California law.

As a result, customers outside California may also see Proposition 65 warnings.
